What a great exercise it was to taste this Block 5 Riesling beside its sibling the Colmar Reserve Riesling. The two sites are 100 metres apart from one another but both wines are very different, and it must be said, both are excellent.
The concentration of this Block 5 is clear. Dripping with lime juice, Bickford's lime cordial and Key lime pie, there is an attractive pithy factor and citrus tang. Long with a minerally vibe, this is such a fabulous drink. With strong ageing credentials seeping through its veins, pour me a large glass for now but if you have the patience, it will develop beautifully in the years to come.
