Scents of seaspray and oyster shell had me captivated from the get-go with this Jericho Adelaide Hills Chenin Blanc. Energised and ready to bust a move, this is a lunch time wine coming in hot.
Made with partial barrel ferment and some time on minimal lees, a firm minerally drive sits at the core. Underripe green apple, quince, lemon juice and green pear fold into one another with ease. The acid is bright and alive giving the fruit a bounding and uplifting presence. That acid adds a crunch too. I'd happily recommend this for those seeking to try something a little bit different given Chenin Blanc is not all that common.
Drink now to three years.
