With a dangerously moreish flow, this is the best Rusty Mutt Original Shiraz to come across this tasting bench. The more it opens up, the more I want to dive in.
Still true to form with a muscular frame and drying powdery tannin structure, but everything presents in better unison with this 2021 edition. Attractive scents of violets set the scene before dark plums, rum and raisin, dark chocolate and a good dose of oak. On the riper side, but for the style it represents, this captured my attention.
It's early days for this wine and to see it at its best be sure to give it a good decant or some time in the cellar.
