Full-bodied without the clout, let this Heathcote Shiraz open up and you are in business. From the makers of Polperro, this Even Keel release is very tidy.
Hand-picked, 30% is whole bunch pressed and it sees French oak for ten months. Blueberries, mulberries, blood plums and dark cherries flood the mouth with beef stock, exotic spices and shards of dark chocolate flanking the edges. Pretty scents of dried purple flowers build a most welcome momentum the longer it sits. A spicy drive is a feature and the length is persistent and seemingly never-ending. Clever stuff, I could easily put away a couple of glasses.
