Meerea Park Alexander Munro Semillon 2009

I had the opportunity to have a look at this at the Meerea Park new release dinner in Brisbane recently. General Manager Garth Eather said quite humbly, "Semillon is something we do well." He's damn right too. Very well I'd say. This is brilliant!

There's so much going on with this wine, yet it also feels quite youthful too. Toast, brioche, toasted nuts and subdued citrus fruit get the ball rolling. Delicate aging characters roll through the mouth effortlessly. Alive in the glass, the palate is generous and lined with soft textural feels. It's crazy to think it will continue to get better as it seems in a holding pattern at the present. Eather goes on to say, "This is the best Semillon we have made." I won't disagree with that. Sublime.

Drink now to whenever you want.
