The 2017 Hunter Valley vintage was a beauty. Some say it's better than the highly regarded 2014. Dive in here and see for yourself - superb Shiraz.
I had the opportunity to have a look at this at a Meerea Park new release dinner. Damn it's good!
Off vines planted in the 1960s, it saw 16 months in oak, 40% of which was new.
Possessing a beautiful and curvaceous medium body frame, whiffs of baked raspberry and dark fruits lead to red licorice, kicks of earth, fine baking spices and aniseed. Well balanced, a generous finish gives plenty of time to absorb its class. Hold in two hands.
This will age well beyond a decade.
