Gewurztraminer from the Yarra Valley is as rare as hen's teeth. Planted in 1976, this is a delightful cool climate expression.
The dry finish is the magnet that keeps drawing me back. The aromas do some serious legwork early too which can't go without due credit. Think white flowers, rose water, expected lychee - all very varietal. There's a hint of orange blossom and lemon rind in the mix too. Sweetness hits early before the palate dries out beautifully - not too dissimilar to a receding tide. Dainty cinnamon like spices clutch to a long finish. Thai and Malaysian food awaits. Great stuff.
