Ballandean Estate Opera Block Shiraz 2017

In November last year, Ballandean Estate celebrated 50 years of Shiraz. This release comes from those original plantings in the Opera Block and it's a Shiraz worth celebrating.

Damn I enjoyed this - it'such a good slurp.

It's raining black fruit, whiffs of licorice and fine spices. Svelte, it just oozes pleasure and seemed to relax furthermore on day two of tasting. Sift a little deeper for dark plums, cloves, flecks of dark chocolate and hints of coffee grounds. Oak is well balanced and the energetic acidity shapes the palate but lets the fruit do the talking. Lingering spices feel as though they hover on a moreish finish. Top stuff.

Drink now to six years+
