Atze's Corner The Mob Montepulciano 2017

Only 250 dozen were produced from this limited edition release. Named after a rogue group of sheep which snuck into the vineyard, "The Mob" came close to destroying it. Three years later the first crop produced this impressive wine.

Montepulciano is the second most planted variety in Italy with its origin hailing from the central part of the country.

There's a fair rap of tannin to this wine - consistent with expected varietal characteristics. Scents of black plum, soot, tilled black earth and dried flowers. Its weighty delivery points to pizza and pasta dishes. Dark plum fruit fills the mouth with dried herbs ticking away to dusty and black tea tannins seeing things out.

Winemaker Any Kalleske suggests to drink from 2025 but decant to drink now.
