Amisfield Pinot Noir 2017

The sommelier at Noble Rot Wine Bar in Wellington was very keen for me to buy this. Oh, why not? Quite a delicious wine with some weight behind it.

But not overly weighty, that's for sure. It's a wine that quietly moves into your space before opening up and showing a chatty side. Dark plums, whispers of blackberries and some chocolate. Cloves and earthiness scamper about but all move in unison. Bright acidity acid brings the mouth to water. A pretty well handled wine as it carries itself with poise. Tea like tannins and those savoury notes sit long. Great stuff.
