Unwooded Chardonnay used to be a thing, but not so much anymore I find. Winemakers have worked out how to embrace oak a little better rather than saturate the fruit. Here, this is a fruit party and you're all invited. It's good to see an unwooded version still floating around.
Lemon curd, mango, custard creaminess cut loose early. They set an upbeat tempo. With a little spice, vanilla, lemon juice and green melon jump on board just like the old days where it seemed a tradition to dance around handbags placed in the middle of the dance floor - do you remember those days? Grapefruit acidity brings the mouth to water - delicious! A refreshing and summery Chardonnay sure to dowse the heat out of a long day. Well played here.
Drink to five years.
