Giant Steps Pinot Noir 2016

A blend of five vineyard sites all handpicked. 35% whole bunches too. Not as beautiful as the 2015 release but still hitting the right notes - only a notch back if you will.

There's a vibe here - bouncing on its toes.

I take a whiff and think mushroom risotto. That fungi character sits behind juicy red fruit. Typical forest floor and ferrous notes march on beside red currants and red cherries. Plenty of depth and red flowers shine as do some exotic spice and even a dash of dark chocolate. Firmish through the mid-palate where the whole bunches show their hand. An easy wine to sink your claws into - great drinking. If you haven't jumped on the Steve Flamsteed train, perhaps you need to check the timetable and get on board.

Drink now to six years.
