Tyrrell's Hunter Valley Shiraz 2015

A very tidy package here headed straight for bargain territory.

Sure 2015 was a wet vintage and with that comes plenty of preconceptions, but here's proof that it's not all doom and gloom.

Sitting fractionally on the lighter side of medium bodied, this is a excellent go-to for those seeking a no fuss and enjoyable wine.

Swimming amongst the gentle spice and earthiness Hunter Shiraz delivers, think red and blue berry fruit plus purple florals and dried red flowers. Although the wine has had some polish, oak plays its part without being heavy handed. There's a touch of char too. The finish is long and most definitely satisfying. I'd happily buy a bottle. I'd probably buy more - great drinking indeed.

Drink now to three years.
