La Violetta Wines Ye-Ye Grise 2016

I initially knew very little about this wine. A friend brought this over for lunch on the weekend. I like the label, I love the wine - so delicious!

A blend of Gewurz, Riesling and Griserie (68/30/2). The packaging is clean and attractive to the eye. What's inside is better again - loads of guzzle factor.

The Griserie component comes from 100% whole bunch Pinot Noir and Gris which were co-fermented adding a copper like hue.

There's plenty of personality and intrigue here. This wine isn't sitting at the bar, it's dancing on the tables. Spiced poached pear, honeyed tones, Turkish Delight, musk and yellow flowers. Delicious textural feels from skin contact adds another layer of interest. Ginger spice throws a lasso around the fruit reigning it in as it fills the mouth generously finishing long and moreish - top ups are a must.

Drink now with big smiles and the music up loud.

92/100
