Although the oak just protrudes a fraction too much, it's hard to frown upon the rest of the wine.
Deep and dense, there's a focus and purity to the generosity on show.
Coffee oak stands proud early. Perhaps too proudly. The fruit density and power is certainly there yet delivery is silky smooth and graceful.
Soft spices, dark plums plus chocolate and caramel characters, which I can only describe as Caramello Koala, roll through with ease. A day on and a finish of coffee liqueur hangs only to be outdone by the smooth chocolate like feels. I'd have no hesitation seeing off a couple of glasses - a most enjoyable wine.
