Parker Coonawarra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

I taste this sample just as the Coonawarra reds have started to be picked for vintage 2017. Many don't appreciate how cool Coonawarra does get. This cool climate eases the region into vintage each year - often well behind others and certainly well behind those regions a few hours north.

Capsicum, cassis, blackcurrant - classic Cabernet characters. Some blueberry here too.

Soft in the mouth, those dark berries stride out filling the mouth. This will warm you up on a chilly evening - think roasted meats or even a classic meat pie. Tannins are plump and a little drying but there's enough curiosity here to call for another sip.

Good drinking and certainly a good buy when discounted around or below the twenty dollar mark.

Drink now to ten years.
