An interesting blend that brings together portions of Shiraz from 2018 & 2019 and a splash of Roussanne (2019).
A 96/4 blend, a swirl of the glass reminds me of apple and blueberry berry pie. An unmistakable whiff of pastry tucks itself behind red plums and dark cherry fruit. Said to be 15% alcohol, it feels a little lighter than suggested. Great width through the mouth, the depth from the Shiraz ticks the boxes. Earthy feels are flanked by spice with fine white pepper - oozing its cool climate roots. A brightish acidity shows a little red apple. A day on and some rhubarb and Lillipily steps forward. All up, this is a really enjoyable wine.
