Yalumba's top Viognier. Many would suggest it is the best in Australia.
Refined and lean but is a wine that just seems as though a little something just isn't there. White flowers, honeysuckle, white-fleshed stonefruit plus a light drizzle of apricot nectar all peel off layers of interest. There is a hint of mandarin peel too. A gentle creamy drive adds texture and fine ginger delivers a spice presence that lingers. Above all, the fruit glides along but the key elements just don't mesh as well as I'd like. Perhaps some more time will be the binding factor?
