Heggies Estate is always a consistent performer. Take a whiff and you get a sense you have a serious Chardonnay on your hands. Hand picked, wild fermented in French oak and resting up for eleven months before seeing the light of day.
Peaches and cream, vanillin and a squeeze of lemon, a wine that's fresh and keen to please on first look. Thinner through the middle than the initial aromas suggest, there's a consistent flow to the wine. Fruit and acid waltz along together at an even tempo. A butter cream and lemon curd rear their heads on the finish with a dash of spice. Throw it at a roast chook or a chicken salad with some toasted nuts.
