Pooley Wines Riesling 2016

A Trophy winner at the Royal Melbourne Show 2016. Very much deserved too. Apologies for the stamped bottle pic, it's the only one I could find. Mind you, after winning such an accolade, I don't blame the Pooleys for promoting it.

Gee this is a treasure. Some wine show results are hit and miss - this is a hit.

A dry Riesling with 4g residual sugar, it has a backbone of limes, kaffir lime leaves and pretty white flowers. Green apple peel reveals another layer. A few more swirls and grapefruit steps up to the plate with a captivating minerally drive steering the ship home. Perfectly balanced fruit and acid sits long urging another sip. A super wine ready to drink now but has aging potential too. A wine I was very glad to purchase.
