Mitchell Wines Mataro Grenache 2012

Dry grown, hand picked and rustic. A delicious Mataro Grenache (60/40) blend from the Clare Valley. Gee I could drink lots of this.

An interesting wine I just couldn't help going back for more. Earthy, a curious whiff of sautéed mushroom funk, and some meaty action. Deep seated dark fruit rests at the core supported by dark chocolate and fine spice. Delivery is firm and unpretentious. I just like the way it feels in the mouth. A wine standing proudly with its chest out and warming grin. Sitting firm, this is unadulterated without any oak in sight. Dusty tannin seals the deal on what seems an endless finish.

Drink now to five years.
