A Chardonnay with some weight in the trunk.
Sourced from three Adelaide Hills sites, this walks with heavy boots. You get a sense it wants to break into a stride, even a sprint, but it is being held back. Heavyish oak dominates the fruit too. Scents of vanilla and lemon juice want to be the lead act before the oak shoulders it way forward. A creamy density fills the mouth. The freshness I'm looking for is muted by hay and barley scents and feels. A wine better enjoyed with food perhaps?
Drink to three years.
