Wild Game The Duke Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Quality + bottle age... Is this the bargain bottle of the year?

It's hard to comprehend how a wine with eight years bottle age can carry a measly price tag of $22. One of two questions can be asked - too good to be true or just a spectacular deal? Run hard with the latter.

From biologically farmed Coonawarra vineyards, the wines are made by the experienced Peter Douglas. Seven hectares of Cabernet is drawn upon.

Ribbons of generous fruit flood the mouth. Swim deep in black fruits and black currants with flashes of cedar and dark chocolate. Flecks of mint and puffs of earthiness mesh seamlessly. Touches of cedar tack on to a long and seemingly endless finish. Fat, plump tannins coat the mouth with ease drying out every so softly. I'm still not sure why this is $22. What a ripping deal. Go here - please do.
