Dense and concentrated, this Sutton Grange Fairbank Syrah is simply beautiful stuff. Tremendous value for $35 with already four years of age under its belt, go here.
The berry fruit is lacy but generous. Dark plums, baked blueberries and blackberries drive the fruit profile with licorice, an array of fine and woodsy spices plus sweetish oak that all put their shoulder to the wheel. Dusty tannins are feathered throughout, and if I were going to be honest, I just want to keep pouring. A wine I'd be more than happy to share with my friends, the value factor here is immense.
