This Barossa Shiraz from Turkey Flat is on song. From a tough year, the classy handling and winemaking shine through.
The fruit is generous but not bulky nor weighed down. There is a fabulous tempo and flow with dark berry fruits front and centre. Over a couple of days of tasting it softened beautifully. Blueberries rise up and sit beside char, bitter dark chocolate and chocolate dipped dark cherries. Suggestions of caramel raise their hand with the light of dark cherry fruit still flickering. Long, fine baking cupboard spices are persistent on an elongated finish. Great drinking, this is a wine that will reward cellaring.
