I love this. Savoury driven, the density of this Evolution Grenache from Turkey Flat carries a magnetism that draws you in.
From 100yo vines and made in the Joven style, whole bunch fermentation and carbonic maceration were used, it sees seasoned French oak for four months with no fining or filtration.
An attractive perfume of dried cherries, raspberries and baked blueberries diffuse from the glass. There is a little cherry ripe slice appeal before the savoury drive kicks in led by roasted meats and pan juices. Wonderfully medium-bodied, it's nicely balanced and certainly not weighty. Long, soft spices shimmer throughout with a delightful fine textural presence. Great drinking.
