This is a fabulous Cabernet and one I could kick back with very happily. Generous fruit is met with plenty of personality and draws you closer. The last of its kind, The First Divide from Redman Wines signs off in style.
Sourced from a vineyard on the southern end of Coonawarra, this was the last vintage before the vines were pulled. A cellar door only release due to the limited quantity produced, but there is nothing to say a little sweet talking over the phone won't snare you one or a few delivered... But you'll have to wait as it is released towards the end of 2024.
It sees 18 months in French oak but that hasn't stopped the juicy black fruits from running riot. Mouth filling with an incredibly joyous disposition, berry pie, black currants, bay leaf and black olives fold into one another with ease. The flicker of pink peppercorns tucks in behind and is shielded by a fine veil of leather. Drying, all moisture is drawn from the mouth with only pillows of tannin left to consider. Pour me another, and make it large.
