I love this deluxe. This is your tonic to wind down after a long week. Well-handled generosity with a seductive depth, this Usher Tinkler Reserve Chardonnay is a weapon of mass destruction - when poured large.
It's a blend of inoculated and wild yeast fermented parcels seeing a mix of new and seasoned French oak for six months. Barbecued and caramelised peaches, flashes of pineapple and mango with Jersey caramel and praline highlights. Vanilla cream, a little buttered toast with a lemon meringue tail, there is a delicate nutty presence that adds interest without taking the limelight. It's a wine that offers intrigue and comfort in equal doses. Hunter Valley Chardonnay is so underrated and this is drinking superbly now yet it will age gracefully if that is your thing. Give me another glass, please.
