There is more lift in this Redman Cabernet Merlot 2021 release than those that have come before. A deliberate shift in winemaking to use less oak and make it more approachable has paid dividends.
A 70/30 blend, this is drying and puckering. Black fruits, satsuma plums, blackberry jubes and chocolate brownie feature. There is a strong presence through the mid-palate with dried herbs scattered about. The tannins are well-built and are wrapped around this wine impressively. There is no doubt that this wine will embrace further ageing. Dusty cocoa-like tannins linger on a persistent finish to complete this very tidy drink.
Drink to eight years.
