Goldman Wines are contract made with fruit sourced from various regions around Australia. This Hunter Valley Shiraz ticks the happiness box and then some.
The name JohannesBurg comes from the vineyard from which the fruit was picked.
An inviting start of raspberry and blueberry aromas. Time in the glass sees boysenberry fruit make an appearance too. The fruit is on the denser side with some good concentration. Barbecued meat and earth are evident as is toasted oak. The fruit feels a little loose at this stage, but it is easy to see where this wine is headed - it's only a pup. Give it a couple of years in the cellar and time will be your friend.
