The second of two new labels from the Thomas Wines stable for 2017. The Belford Shiraz comes from a block backing onto his Sweetwater Shiraz vineyard.
Only 130 dozen produced, this wine has been made exclusively for wine club members.
Dark fruits and boysenberries hustle for attention with a shimmer of brown spices and faint licks of dark chocolate. Hunter Valley earth raises its hand - nice. I keep going back to swirling the glass as pretty scents reach out their hand with a welcoming embrace. This Shiraz grew on me with time in the glass and it will grow into its own skin furthermore with more bottle age. Great stuff!
