Huntington Estate Bin No13 Shiraz 2017

This batch of Shiraz didn't fit the reserve range so it was kept on its own - smart move. Seeing 15% new oak for 18  months, it's a little bit different. But good different as some may say - it's like a Cherry Ripe in a glass.

Give it a swirl and take a whiff as dark chocolate dipped dark cherries spill out. A touch of raspberries makes a dash before being swamped by licorice, cardamom and a hint of clove. A little Five Spice is scattered around the edges but there is a ying and yang factor here given its prettiness and its serious side. Fine tannins with a powdery feel reach long and dry out ever so slowly. As it sees more time in the glass and then again on day two of tasting, it builds a delicious momentum. Hello Friday night.
