Bright, uplifting, textural and with a tang to boot, this Willunga 100 Grenache Blanc is excellent. A variety that is really breaking out, particularly over the last two years, this is the best example I have seen thus far from a range of producers.
Hand-picked from the Trott vineyard (135 above), the fruit was pressed off and saw some time on lees with 25% going to seasoned French oak.
Alive with lemon juice and lemon zest that folds into brown Nashi pear, white fleshed stonefruit hovers about with the suggestion of lychees. The handling delivers some almond meal nuttiness with a Mediterranean tonic textural drive and a delicious lemony sherbet tang on close. This is quite something if you're looking for something a little different as well as clean and fresh. It's a winner.
