A lovely wine to enjoy with a casual meal, Soumah has done a great job fusing Nebbiolo and Barbera together from the Yarra Valley and King Valley.
Although Soumah has some Barbera in the ground, the vines are not mature enough at this stage so this portion is currently sourced from the King Valley.
Let this open up and pretty aromas of purple flowers leap from the glass followed by earthy and twiggy scents, black tea, mulch and tilled earth. Blackberries and dark cherry fruit roll through the mid-palate framed by firm spices that tighten the vice and refuse to move. The Barbera component really adds some flesh. Drying tannins make this an ideal food wine. Ragu is calling.
Drink to three years.
