Winemaker Duncan Cook came across a Grenache parcel that he says he couldn't pass up. From the Central Ranges, just below the 600 metres above boundary GI for the Orange region comes this riper, darker fruit spectrum style.
Grenache is a rare bird in these parts. This example is warming and spicy. Scents of dried purple flowers, pine needles and tilled earth skip out early. The palate is coated with drunken dark cherries with some mulberries trying to peer through. There is some density and weight about its carry and it's a that will go best with food.
