Jacob's Creek Classic Riesling 2019

Well, the first 2019 wine has arrived and what a noise it has made! A quick search reveals it can be bought for around $6 - a burst of refreshment everyone can afford.

An excellent investment, you'd think you were drinking a Riesling twice its price. An explosion of citrusy fruit with limes reigning supreme. Some lemony zest tang and sherbet drive their way through a cleansing and crisp delivery. Some chalky feels for good measure too. Yep, no one loses here.

Drink now.

  1. After hearing that this wine won a Gold medal at the 2019 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show I paid a visit to my local wine retailer to see what all the fuss was all about. It's a great "drink now" style that ticks all the right boxes. It's got all the right varietal aromas and flavours with zesty acidity that gives it a talc like texture and very good length and should cellar easily for 3-4 years At its current price its a steal and compares favourably with Rieslings with greater pedigrees that cost 3 times the asking price of this wine.

    1. For as little as five or six dollars this is a steal. It's very much a commercial wine and they've nailed the wine show brief. It certainly punches above its weight.
