Firm and generous, this Coonawarra Cabernet is big, dry and sapping - mouth puckering stuff.
After three days it was still stern and muscly. Buckets up black fruits rush early then shift gear to a savoury drive courtesy of black olives, dark chocolate, dried mint and dried herbs with soft spices that line the edge of the palate. Drying with cocoa like tannins, it's a big wine that needs a big personality beside it - roast lamb or a tomahawk steak. Best to let it sit for a couple of years or decant well before drinking.
