Every winery needs a pizza and pasta wine in their portfolio and this Tempranillo is Mount Pleasant's take.
Previously known as the Tempranillo Touriga, it appears the Touriga has been redeployed elsewhere for the 2022 release.
That red Hunter Valley earth rattles along through this wine. Chorizo, cured meats and pan juices - they're all here. Red plums and red apple slide in underneath with some tomato paste. It hits and sticks to the front and mid-palate with the back seemingly going MIA. A little firm, this is certainly your pizza and pasta night go-to.
Drink to five years.
