Terre à Terre Crayères Sauvignon Blanc 2022

From now on, if you ask me what Australia's best Sauvignon Blanc is, this Terre à Terre Crayères will be my bullet-like response. I can guess what some may suggest countering this statement, but find me a better example that is highly consistent, considered, layered, and most of all, damn good drinking.

From close planted vines (1.5m x 1.5m) on Terra Rossa soil in the Wrattonbully region, the fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermented in large format French oak.

The soft creaminess and long, luxurious drive is superb. Measured and delicate, the detail and effort is pure. A far cry from the vibrant/extraverted tropical fruit and painfully acidic types, this is crafted and carefully made.

Soft lemons with sheets of texture are laid throughout the palate offering a delightful phenolic grip. Old school lemonade, pie apple, ruby grapefruit plus a chorus of cut herbs add detail. An ever so subtle creaminess trickles through and gets my attention each time with a deftly soft spice that slowly curls around the mouth. A glorious wine indeed.
