I preferred to drink this Block 2 Chardonnay from Colmar Estate for now rather than the more highly rated Reserve. A nutty thing, hazelnuts cut loose with some cashews for good measure. A very clever Chardonnay from Orange, NSW.
Rich and generous, I adored its length and width. Peaches and peach nectar, white fleshed nectarines and pie apple all surge to drive the fruit profile. The layers of interest unfurl with ease. Lemon slice adds some pastry feels, vanilla cream and licks of sourdough with a ginger nut biscuit hum.
The comfort this Chardonnay brings is respectable and then some. Smart gear deluxe.
