You're on a winner with any of the three Oakridge Vineyard Series Chardonnays in your hand. This Willowlake is a ripper once again.
From a low-yielding vintage, the fruit was handpicked before being whole bunch pressed and sent to French oak puncheons for barrel fermentation with 10 months on lees.
I found it quite different to the Hazeldene and Henk. This is more lemons and old school lemonade rather than grapefruit. Wonderfully textured, it's a little flinty with delicate white fleshed nectarines and roasted nuts arousing interest. Fine cinnamon and ginger spices shimmer with a lemony tang on a long, persistent and deadly moreish finish. It's a fabulous drink.
Drink to eight years.
