Heathcote isn't a region that hits this tasting bench all that often, so it was great to see this Shiraz make an appearance. Polperro's Even Keel range is sourced from a few regions and this Shiraz comes from the red Cambrian soils of Heathcote.
A really tidy drink, it is loaded with plum pudding, mulberries and blackberries. Soft scents of blue and purple flowers add a pretty perfume and a ribbon of red earthiness cruises through the core flanked by pepper berries, cocoa and brick dust tannins. Drying to finish, it makes for a fabulous barbecue wine and those causal get-togethers.
