Clean, fresh and in the food-friendly zone, this Stockman's Ridge Pinot Gris is a lovely drink with much to peruse.
Made by Will Rikard-Bell, Orange's resident texture boss, a portion was fermented in stainless steel, the pressings were fermented separately with wild yeast and a portion of the free run juice went straight to seasoned French oak for wild yeast fermentation.
Cut pears and poached pears kick alongside honeyed tones, white flowers and a fine nuttiness on an eventful introduction. A lemony zip wraps around a gingersnap biscuit spice with canned apples rising up late. But that dry finish and long, drawn out spice just sit and hold. It's very well done.
Drink now.
