Chapel Hill The Vicar Shiraz 2021

Chapel Hill's flagship wine, the Vicar Shiraz 2021 glides along with absolute ease. Would it be bold to suggest it is even a little lacey? This is an excellent McLaren Vale Shiraz.

It sees 20 months in French oak and represents the best parcels and barrels. Made for the long haul, it's almost criminal to be looking at it now with only three years under its belt.

Baked berry pie, blood plums and a shimmer of raspberry build a generous and lengthy fruit profile. Some char, vanilla, mocha and spice cupboard delights continue to add detail and interest with elegant fine tannins highlighted by Dutch cocoa running long. If you like them big, this is well worth snuggling up to, and despite its youth, it's thrilling to consider where this could end up. Bravo!
