Corryton Burge Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2025

I posted a reel to Instagram sharing my thoughts on Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir. Although there are some exceptions, I see many that present as a lighter-bodied Shiraz. This release from Corryton Burge is yet another example of that.

Spicy from the outset, with pine needle and a faint menthol note, the palate brings blueberries and plums before opening to reveal strawberries and raspberries. There’s a touch of char and cured meat adding savoury interest, while spice wraps around the finish. The fruit has enough freshness to keep things moving, but stylistically this drinks more like a lighter-bodied Shiraz than Pinot Noir. It rolls along without any great bells and whistles, offering straightforward, easy drinking rather than complexity or intrigue. A fair drink that sits comfortably within its price point.
