Russell & Suitor Ladera Pinot Noir 2025

From Pipers River in Tasmania, this is a solid expression of Pinot Noir from Russell & Suitor.
The website currently says it’s sold out, making the arrival of a sample for review an interesting twist. The fruit is machine harvested which adds another veneer of curiosity, particularly for this price point.

Dark cherries, wild strawberries and red currants provide the fruit core, while waves of fine fruit bun and woodsy spices build momentum across the palate. The spice brings tension, but also a gentle warmth that settles like a cosy blanket. Black tea tannins unfurl slowly, with a subtle smoky-meat character adding savoury depth through the finish. There’s plenty going on here, and I’d suggest giving it a decant to let it open up and fully express itself. In all, it's a tidy Pinot Noir with genuine character.
