A cascade of perfume spills from the glass. Wonderfully aromatic, as you’d expect from Gewürztraminer, this Huntington Estate release is all about the fragrance.
Lychee, musk and green apple skin tumble from the glass, setting up a palate that is bone dry and refreshingly crunchy. Green apple acidity brings plenty of snap, with a pinch on the finish that should soften once food enters the frame. It doesn’t quite flow through to the back palate as hoped, leaving the finish a touch shorter than anticipated. But this is a wine with a job to do. Bone dry, aromatic and armed with plenty of acidity, it’s ready to take down your Friday night Asian takeaway.
