In a word, delicate. This Yarra Yering Pinot Noir is all class.
I had the opportunity to taste this at the cellar door recently. It was a quick-fire look - bottle opened, a couple of swirls, notes taken, we move on. I have no doubt it would soften and evolve with time in the glass but time is something I didn't have that day.
Softly spiced, the use of 20% whole bunches was evident adding a delightful savoury complexity as ribbons of interest flow through the palate. A meaty edge rides on the coat tails of bountiful red cherries. It's one of those wines that ask you to stay a while. I wish I did. All that aside, classy wines ooze charisma and this had me at hello.
