Merlot with some expression and presence - yes! This is a fine drink that is sure to please. Fruit depth, length plus a dash of spice ensure things are moving in the right direction.
It's a wine I'd be happy to sip away. Blackcurrants and blackberries make the first move with drunken dark cherries cutting in behind. Dried herbs and some leather build momentum with waves of soft spices flowing through. Some red peppers show the lineage to Merlot's Bordeaux relatives. Drying and puckering, this is a mouthful of wine but a tasty one at that. Well played.
Drink to eight years.
