Anarchy Wines The Alchemist Shiraz 2020

Anarchy is a project born from two Gold Coast mates taking their love of wine to the next level. Winemaker Dave Rushton packed up and moved to the Barossa leaving his film and television carrier behind to chase the dream. Respect! This tidy Shiraz is one of three wines in the range.

Juicy red fruit is parcelled up by Christmas cake and brown spices. Flashes of dark chocolate and cedar raise their hand but I keep coming back to the dancy raspberries that hurl themselves at you with the old Kath & Kim, "Look at moi, look at moi." You wouldn't complain with this in your glass, but if anything, the mid-palate thins out and is seemingly MIA. There is enough around it to keep you interested with those spices running a long thread to a sustained finish. Big music fans, the lads recommend you enjoy this wine with progressive rock and a good light show.
